Create API keys
In your bol.com seller account: Settings → Services → API settings. Choose Create for the client credentials of the Retailer API.

Paste the keys into PeppolKit and fill in your company details. For books or other reduced rates, set the VAT rate per EAN.

Questions about bol.com
Do I have to invoice myself as a bol.com seller?
Yes. With Selling via bol you are the seller and must be able to give a proper invoice. bol.com only sends your customer a payment overview. Business customers and customers abroad are always entitled to an invoice; others can request one.
What happens with invoice requests?
Every ten minutes PeppolKit looks at open requests, creates the invoice and puts it on the shipment. Because PeppolKit also uploads the invoice for every new shipment, far fewer requests come in.
What happens with a return?
When bol.com refunds your customer, because the return was received or got lost on the way, PeppolKit automatically creates a credit note against the original invoice. Not for an exchange or a repair. bol.com only takes one invoice per shipment, so the credit note is in your PeppolKit dashboard and the monthly export, and goes over Peppol to Belgian businesses.
bol.com doesn't pass on a VAT rate. How does PeppolKit know the rate?
PeppolKit uses the standard rate of the country whose VAT applies (21% in the Netherlands and Belgium). Selling books, food or other reduced-rate products? Set the rate per EAN in the dashboard.
My customer is a Belgian business. Is a PDF on bol.com enough?
No. Since 2026 Belgian businesses must receive a structured e-invoice over Peppol; bol.com no longer accepts a VAT invoice through the platform in that case. PeppolKit sends the invoice to your customer over Peppol and also puts the PDF on bol.com.
Is it safe to share my API keys?
The keys only give access to your seller account through the Retailer API. We store the Secret encrypted and only use it for orders, shipments and invoices. You can revoke them at any time in your seller account, and disconnecting deletes them right away on our side.
Is PeppolKit listed under bol.com's Apps & Service providers?
Not yet. bol.com admits partners twice a year and first asks for a number of users. Until then you connect with API keys, like any integration that isn't (yet) in that list.
