Connect a free Peppyrus account to PeppolKit
On PeppolKit's free plan you send invoices over Peppol through your own Peppyrus account, on WooCommerce, PrestaShop and bol.com. Here is how to connect it.
Why your own Peppyrus account?
Peppyrus is a Belgian Peppol access point. PeppolKit's free plan includes no Peppol sends through PeppolKit itself. Instead, PeppolKit sends your invoices through your Peppyrus account, according to PeppolKit up to 100 a month. Those sends don't count towards your PeppolKit subscription. This applies to WooCommerce, PrestaShop and bol.com; Lightspeed will follow. On a paid plan you can also send through PeppolKit, within the sends included in your plan.
What you do
- Create a free account at customer.peppyrus.be and fill in your company details.
- Finish the registration. Peppyrus then puts your Peppol ID on the network. Which details or proof Peppyrus asks for in that check is Peppyrus's decision; PeppolKit can't see it. If your account has no Peppol ID yet, PeppolKit tells you to request one at Peppyrus under Organisatie → Peppol identificatie (the menu name as PeppolKit quotes it, in Dutch).
- Create an API key at Peppyrus and copy it.
- Open the PeppolKit dashboard. In WooCommerce click Open dashboard under PeppolKit → Overview; in PrestaShop click Open dashboard on the module page. For bol.com go to app.peppolkit.com/d/login and request a login link for the e-mail address you connected with; it works for 30 minutes and there are no passwords.
- Paste the key. Go to Settings, tab Peppol, enter the Peppyrus API key and click Connect Peppyrus. If it works, you see "You're sending through your own Peppyrus account" with your Peppol ID. Disconnect undoes the connection.
Already receiving e-invoices through your accountant?
PeppolKit notices and shows "You already receive e-invoices through another provider". Your Peppol ID can only receive at one provider at a time. So choose outgoing invoices only at Peppyrus: your receiving stays where it is.
What can you do before the registration is finished?
- Connecting doesn't work yet. PeppolKit says your account has no Peppol ID yet, or: "Your Peppyrus account can't send yet. Finish the registration at Peppyrus first."
- Invoices are still created and e-mailed. Business customers get the UBL file with it. The Peppol status stays on Waiting to send.
- After connecting, earlier invoices are not sent again automatically. Open the invoice and click Send over Peppol now, or in WooCommerce Send via Peppol / retry.
What does the free plan cover?
PeppolKit free: 10 invoices a month, with VAT rules, credit notes, PDF and UBL file. Peppol goes through your own Peppyrus account, up to 100 a month. Invoices to consumers never go over Peppol. Peppyrus sets its own terms, and they can change, so check Peppyrus' current terms before you rely on them. More on costs: what Peppol costs.
Frequently asked questions
Is a Peppyrus account really free?
According to PeppolKit, Peppyrus has a free plan of 100 sends a month. Peppyrus sets the terms, so check Peppyrus' current terms.
Do sends through Peppyrus count towards my PeppolKit plan?
No. Sends through your own Peppyrus account don't count towards the Peppol sends in your subscription.
Do I have to use Peppyrus?
On the free plan, yes, if you want to send over Peppol. On a paid plan you can also send through PeppolKit, after a one-time identity check.

They never go over Peppol. A consumer gets the invoice as a PDF by e-mail, and it uses no Peppol send.
