Install PeppolKit in PrestaShop

Here is how to install the PeppolKit module in PrestaShop 8 or 9 and connect your shop. After that, every paid order gets an invoice and every credit slip becomes a credit note.

What you need

• PrestaShop 8.0 or newer (tested with 8.2 and 9.2) and PHP 7.4 or newer. PrestaShop 1.7 is not supported.
• A business established in the Netherlands or Belgium.
• Your VAT number and your KvK or enterprise number.

The module works with any payment method.

Install and connect

1. Download the zip from peppolkit.com/downloads/peppolkit-prestashop.zip. The module is not in PrestaShop Addons yet.
2. Upload the module. Go to Modules → Module Manager → Upload a module and choose the zip. PrestaShop installs it right away. Then click Configure at PeppolKit.
3. Connect your shop. Check Your e-mail address (the shop address is filled in already) and click Connect PeppolKit. The account is free up to 10 invoices a month and needs no payment details. You see "PeppolKit is connected. Fill in your company details below." and the status Connected.
4. Fill in your company details under Company details on your invoices: company name, street and number, postcode, city, country (Netherlands or Belgium), VAT number and KvK or enterprise number. IBAN, reply-to e-mail and invoice number prefix are optional.
5. Choose your options under Invoices and sending: E-mail the invoice to the customer, Send invoices to business customers over Peppol, OSS and the €10,000 threshold, plus the Invoice language. Click Save. You see "Settings saved."

If you already send your customer the PrestaShop invoice, they will get two. Send only the PeppolKit invoice.

VAT number of business customers

PeppolKit reads the VAT number from the billing address of the order. So turn on the VAT number field in the PrestaShop address form; this can be done per country. PeppolKit checks the number in VIES and applies reverse charge on the invoice for a valid number from another EU country. The amount your customer pays still comes from PrestaShop, so also set a VAT exemption there for business customers in the EU. Otherwise PeppolKit warns you on the order that VAT was charged.

Activate Peppol

The module itself has no Peppol button. Click Open dashboard and go to Settings, tab Peppol. On the free plan you connect your own Peppyrus account there: see create a Peppyrus account. On a paid plan it can also go through PeppolKit, after a one-time identity check.

When is an invoice or credit note created?

• Invoice: as soon as an order gets a status that PrestaShop marks as paid. If you created your own order statuses, check that the paid status really is set as paid.
• Credit note: as soon as you create a credit slip. The credit note refers to the original invoice and goes to your customer by e-mail, and over Peppol too for a Belgian business on Peppol.
• Your customer sees the invoice on the order confirmation and in the order in their account, with the link Download PDF.

Earlier orders and your first test

The button Invoice paid orders of the last 60 days creates invoices for paid orders that have none, up to 100 at a time. They follow the same route as new orders: if e-mailing is on, your customers receive their invoice by e-mail.

To test, set an order to a paid status. In the side column of the order, the PeppolKit block shows the invoice number, PDF, UBL, the e-mail status and the Peppol status. If it says "No invoice yet", use Create invoice now. A test order is a real invoice, with a number from the continuous series.

If creating an invoice failed, for example because your company details were missing, the module page shows a warning with the button Create waiting invoices now.
